My double glazed unit has steamed up. Do I need a new window?
No. The sealed glass unit sits separately inside the frame, so we can replace just the glass without disturbing the window. See our double glazed units page for an instant guide price.
There's a gap between my window and the frame on the hinge side. Can it be fixed?
Almost always. A gap on the hinge side usually means a worn or collapsed friction hinge. New hinges restore the seal and the window closes like new again.
My window handle just spins and won't unlock the window. What's wrong?
Either the drive bar inside the handle has sheared or the locking gearbox has failed. Both are standard replacement parts we carry, so there's no need for a new window.
My rubber weather seals have shrunk and gone hard. Can they be replaced?
Yes. We stock a wide range of weather seals and can re-gasket most windows and doors on the spot, curing draughts and rattles.
Water is getting into my window frame. What causes that?
Modern frames have drainage slots that let rainwater escape outside. When they block, water builds up and can seep indoors. We clear the drainage, renew the seals and check the frame is weathertight.
The sealant around my frames is cracked and mouldy. What do you recommend?
We strip the old silicone, clean the frames back and re-seal with an anti-mould, low-modulus sealant. It's a small job that makes a big difference to weatherproofing and looks.
Can you fit locking handles so my windows meet my insurance requirements?
Yes. We carry locking handles for current and older window systems, plus child-safety restrictors, and can usually fit them in a single visit.
My door has dropped and scrapes the floor. Can it be adjusted?
Usually, yes. Doors drop when hinges wear or packers settle. We re-align the door, replace worn hinges and adjust the keeps so it closes and locks smoothly again.
Do you repair commercial premises as well as homes?
Yes, including shops, offices, schools and rental properties. Landlords and property managers use us for responsive repairs and planned maintenance alike.
How quickly can you come out?
For most repairs we can visit within a few working days, and urgent security issues (a door that won't lock, broken glass) are prioritised. Contact the team and we'll confirm the earliest slot.
Do you charge to quote?
No, quotes are free and no-obligation. Send photos on WhatsApp and we can often give you a price without a visit.
Are your repairs guaranteed?
Yes, our workmanship and the parts we fit are guaranteed. Guarantee terms for each job are confirmed on your quote.
Got a window or door problem?
Send us a photo and we'll tell you whether it's a repair or a replacement, and what it's likely to cost.
